Domestic workers rank among the lowest in the unorganized sector in our society. There is a need to organize them and make them aware of their rights. It is estimated that there are about 7500 domestic workers in Mangalore.

GOAL :
To conscientize and organize the women domestic workers for their integral development.

OBJECTIVES :
- Organizing the domestic workers and strengthening the Forum.
- Improve their working condition.
- Empowering them through a process of awareness and training.
- Forming Self Help Groups.
- Restoring their self-esteem as well as dignity in labour.
- To provide necessary information regarding job opportunities.
- To draw up necessary guidelines to those employers who seek the services of domestic workers through the association.

Achievements :
* Total number of members registered in the Forum – 805.
* Total number of Self Help Groups formed – 12.
* Memorandum submitted to the Government through Deputy Commissioner of Mangalore urging compulsory registration of domestic workers.

Future Thrust :
To devise ways and means for the financial well-being of the association so as to assist the domestic workers at the time of sickness, lay-off, etc.
