Mr Radovan Gumulak, General Secretary of Caritas Slovakia visited the CODP on 29th November 2009. He was accompanied by Ms Maria Takacova, Co-ordinator for the Child Sponsorship Programme; Sr Ivica, Mr Pavol also from Caritas Slovakia and Sr Maria Goretti, Sr Daphne D’Souza and Sr Zeena from Dharma Jyothi Society, Mangalore.
To mark their visit a cultural programme was organized which was presented by children sponsored by Caritas Slovakia. Around 25 children performed a puppet show, classical dances and a skit conveying the Christmas message.
The half day's activities started with a prayer song, traditional lighting of the lamp, cultural programme, address by the Director of CODP Fr Onil D’Souza and Mr Radovan Gumulak and culminated with handing over Christmas gifts to around 100 children present on the day.
