AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON H1N1 & DENGUE


An awareness programme on ‘H1N1 and Dengue’ was organized by CODP in collaboration with Bandhavya at CODP-ISD Mangalore on 18.09.2009. The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Onil D’Souza, Director CODP, Dr Sr Saritha and Dr Anusha K. of Fr Muller’s Hospital, Derlakatte. In his inaugural address Fr Onil explained the purpose of conducting this awareness programme considering the misunderstanding in the society regarding these two diseases. He also explained that the field staff of Bandhavya partner organizations were invited to this programme as they are in direct contact with the people in the villages and hence would be in a better position to communicate the knowledge gained here to them.

 


Drs Anusha and Saritha explained in detail to the gathering through slide shows the various aspects of the diseases viz. causes, symptoms, treatment and also preventive measures to be taken to avoid contracting the same.


Earlier in the day Mr Rayan Miranda welcomed the participants, Ms Sushitha Lobo compeered the programme and also introduced the resource persons to the gathering. Mr Sujan Crasta proposed the vote of thanks. In all 53 members were present.
