During the month of April 2009 the CODP® organized Career Guidance programmes for children benefiting under the Child Sponsorship Project. Over 1700 children and their parents attended these programmes conducted at CODP over two weeks.
Mr Raju Steevan, Bela; Ms Reena Lobo, Gurpur; Prof. Stephan Quadras, Mangalore and Mr Francis D’Cunha, Mulky spoke on the necessity and purpose of promoting Career Advancement among the youth and urged the students to opt for Government/Civil services after their academic studies. However, they were also advised to identify their inner abilities before making a choice of their career. Active participation by children during these sessions was an encouraging factor.
Children below the age group of 12 years were entertained separately with simple games and talent presentation. Thereafter, each child and her/his parent was interviewed by the CODP staff and their progress recorded. They were also gifted with note books and registers necessary for their academic purpose.
