God
created human being's, making them to be like himself.
He created them male and female, blessed them, and said,
'Have many children, so that your descendents will live
all over the earth and bring it under their control'.
Gen.1:27 & 28

Is there a
single person on this earth who doesn’t like to have
peace? Probably not. Not only there may not be a single
person on this earth who doesn’t like to have peace but
on the contrary every single person longs to have it.
The question is how to have it?
According to one of the sources it seems that there are
946 billionaires in the world today; 178 more than last
year. Does it mean that the human beings are better off
and more peaceful today than in the previous years? If
having wealth means enjoying peace then why so many
people from west, the so called developed countries,
come to the east the land of gurus and sages in search
of peace? On the other hand if the land of gurus and
sages provides peace then why so many of our youngsters
stand on their feet to go to the west and get settled
there?
People who have wealth need to grow spiritually also.
And the people who have religion which satisfies the
thirst of their soul, need to have enough resources to
sustain their lives. Both the rich and the poor people,
from the developed and developing countries need to grow
together to have real peace in the society. As the one
who has shares his/her resources with one who doesn’t
have, the latter one should not stop just with receiving
but must take active part in the process of development.
This active participation comes only when there is
animation and education. Development that results from
animation and education lasts long. C.O.D.P. believes in
this kind of development which results from animation
and education.
The role of C.O.D.P. is not making people rich but
helping them to think for themselves, make decisions for
themselves and live a dignified life through
empowerment. C.O.D.P. has been doing this work of
empowering people for the last 33 years through various
activities. The activities that C.O.D.P. does at the
moment are training leaders and teaching saving habits
through SHGs, protecting environment through watershed
programme, creating and providing equal opportunities to
the excluded viz. people infected with HIV/AIDS,
assisting children to complete their education and shape
their future, empowering domestic workers to fight for
their rights and enabling the rural youth to earn their
living through skill training (RUSEMP).
Dear Reader, we are privileged to have you as our
partners in this process of development and empowerment
which leads to Real PEACE in the society. We welcome you
to join hands with us in creating a Just and Peaceful
Society.
